Title: Blood Moon by Jillian Graves

Genre: Fantasy, Romance, Erotica

Rating: 5 Stars

I read Titan a little while ago and really enjoyed it so when I learnt that Jillian Graves had a new book in the strange universe I couldn’t wait to pick it up. This book is following a witch named Hazel and a vampire named Vlad and I have a huge spot for vampires and shifters, I blame Anita Blake for that. In the opening Hazel is finishing her shift at her bar, the Witchazel before heading to a strange party held by her coven leader, Dru and here we get a brief appearance from Titan and Jules.

At this party, Dru gives Hazel a potion which enhances her magic and physical sensations which leads to her getting steamy in the shower only to be spied on by Vlad. What follows is an amazing scene where Vlad drinks Hazel’s blood to experience the potion too and they both give over to the sensations. However, Vlad also has the ability to read Hazel’s mind and make all her fantasies come true. However, she soon learns that he is the owner of the rival bar, The Black Door souring their evening together and it leads to Hazel fleeing the party.

After this Hazel realises that Vlad has been spying on her and decides to get even leading to another steamy scene in his office while the club is in full swing. During this Hazel realises that Vlad is being pressured by his investors to do things he isn’t comfortable with and they are the one responsible for harassing her not Vlad. In the wake of this realisation, Vlad also comes to learn that Charles is looking to take over the Witchazel and this drives him into a frenzy.

In the end the pair decide to work together because Vlad knows the Witchazel is exactly the type of place he was trying to create and supporting Hazel will achieve his own dream. Hazel uses the Blood Moon ritual to cast a protection spell around her bar and a hex that will bring any negative energy directed at her bar back to the Black Door several times over which eventually forces it to close its door and Charles to abandon his takeover plans.

The epilogue was so cute as we see Vlad and Hazel creating an environment where all strange are welcome, providing them a safe space to be themselves and that final scene especially with the mind reading was top tier smut in my opinion. Overall, this was a delightful addition to the Strange universe and I can’t wait to read more from the author in the future.
